Back Then In Texas: Hood County Memories of Julian Carmichael Massey

Recounts the stories of Julian Massey, born 1927 in the Fall Creek area of Hood County, a small county in Texas about 30 miles southwest of Fort Worth. Julian grew up on the family farm in Hood County, served in the army in Germany at the end of World War II, and (except for a couple years working in the railroad shop in Cleburne, Texas) has lived and farmed in Hood County his entire life. In 1950, Julian married a Hood County girl from across the Brazos River. He and his wife, Willie Mae (Wiggins), raised their two sons and lived through financially trying times. Through hard work on the part of all four of them, the family survived and thrived. Includes family history and genealogy, along with the stories (and images) of life in Texas during this period.
